User Defined Tasks
UDTs have been used in the past for agency policy reviews. The UDT does not exist in the upgraded Washington State Learning Center. This job aid shows you how to replicate that functionality in the upgraded application.
Create a Quick Assessment to wrap your questions in

- Click on Admin Tab
- Click on Learning Management
- Click on Activity Management
- Click on Learning Activities
- Click on the New Activity button
- Select Quick Assessment (this will open a new page)
- Input the Name
- Verify the Primary Domain
- Add an Image (if desired)
- Verify the Activity Type is Quick Assessment
- Input the Code
- Add a Description
- Verify the owner (you can browse to change this)
- Add a Contact name(s)
- Add the Contact Email address(es)
- Add a URL for additional Information
- Add Keywords
- Click Optional (this will take you to the optional settings page). Note: for this example, the rest of the settings (like audience etc. will be handled on the Optional Settings page)
- Click on Quick Assessments which is located in the Web Based Training sub menu.
- If you want to set a Maximum time to complete assessment enter the Hours and Minutes
- Decide if you want to Randomize the display of questions in the assessment to ensure that each learner gets to view questions in a different order.
- Update additional properties as needed (see blue call out box)
- Enter assessment feedback
- Scroll down to the Question Banks Section to Continue
- Click Add (this will open the Add Question Banks Dialog Box)
- Select the Question Bank(s) you wish to associate with the Quick Assessment. Note: You can use the search bar to narrow the results using a keyword.
- Click OK
- Use the Arrows under Random Question to select questions from the question bank. You must select at least one.
- Click OK (this returns you to the Quick Assessment)
- Click OK again (this will return you to the Optional Settings page)
- Under the Configure general properties for your activity menu select Grading and Completion. This will open a new dialog box.
- Select Contribute to parent activity completion
- Select Required to be completed (as this is a policy review it should be made required)
- Set the Minimum Percent Required (as this is a policy review, this has been set to 100)
- Select Enable learning activity sequencing (as this is a policy review, this assessment should come after the other items in the curriculum).
- Click OK. This will return you to the Optional Page.
- Click on General under the Web Based Training This will open a new dialog box.
- Select the Web Based Properties you wish to use.
We recommend setting
- Select No registration required (as this will be part of a curriculum, this allows them to register once for all activities instead of having to register for individual activities)
- Maximum Attempts
- Properties for Online Content Relaunch
- Properties for Online Content Access Duration
- Click OK which will return you to the Optional page.
- Click on Availability under the Registration
Availability
- Click Open for Registration
- Click Allow one click registration
- Click OK (which returns you to the Optional Settings page).
- Click on Status under the Configure general properties for your activity
- Select Active
- Select No registration required
- Select Can be subscribed
- Select Active using the drop-down bar
- Click OK
