If you have a state issued mobile device and the photo format is HEIC, you will need to update your iPhone camera settings to change the default to JPG. Visit Change iPhone Default Photo Format

If you already have HEIC formatted photos and you would like to convert them to JPG, see the steps below for converting.

Change iPhone Photos to JPEG via the Files App

By copying photos from the Photos app to the Files app, these pictures will be saved as JPEG files automatically. Thus, this is the fastest way to convert HEIC to JPEG.

To convert iPhone photos to JPEG via the Files app:

Go to the Photos app and select the pictures you want to convert.

  1. Tap the Share  icon and select Copy Photos.

  2. Go to the Files app and tap Browse > On My iPhone.
(State issued phones do not have iCloud accounts so you will only be able to save your photos locally on the phone. Please do not log in to an iCloud account on your work phone)

  3. Press and hold any part of the blank area and tap Paste.

  4. Now you can see the photos are saved as JPEG images on your iPhone.
