This article can help if you created a Private or Shared channel and want to add Planner. Since a Private or Shared channel cannot be converted to Standard, a work around to get a Plan in the channel is to create the Plan in a browser and copy the URL into a Website tab in the Private or Shared channel.

  1. Open Edge and browse to https://planner.cloud.microsoft/, then click New Plan in bottom left or top right.





  2. If you are new to Planner, I suggest trying a template, maybe the "Simple Plan" so that you can see some common features already set up for you to edit.




  3. After selecting a template and clicking Use Template, step through the instructions and eventually you will be at your new plan. Use the Share button to give people access to it.




  4. Copy the URL (website address) and go to your Team Channel. Find the plus button at the tabs to add a new Tab. Select Website. (You may need to search for the Website option)




  5. Paste that website address to your plan into this Website tab. The new tab will be available to all who have access to your Channel, but only those who you used the Share button for in the previous step will actually be able to browse to the new Plan.
