Microsoft Skype for Business for iPhone/iPad:
Installation requirements
You will need an iPhone or iPad with Apple iOS 8.0 or later to install Skype for Business for iPhone/iPad.
Install Skype for Business app:
Install the Skype for Business app on your mobile phone with a couple of steps:
- From your Phone/iPad, go to the App Store and search for Microsoft Skype for Business.
- Tap the GET button in the app, and then tap Install and enter your App Store Apple ID and password. As soon as the app is installed, it appears on your home screen.
Initial Sign In:
- Start Skype for Business by tapping the Skype app icon.
- Now you will see a note explaining that in order to sign in, you need a Skype for Business account and your IT administrator must turn on Skype for Business for Mobile.
- To confirm that you do have a Skype for Business account, tap OK. Enter your sign-in address (name@domain.com) and your password. (In some instances, your user name will be provided in Advanced Options.)
Open the Skype for Business App:
- Enter the Sign In Address (Example: martin@des.wa.gov)
- Enter Password – this is your network password
- Select Advanced Options:
- In User Name field, enter your network login
(Example: eclient\donnam; this is your network login)
- Turn Auto-Detect Server Off
- Internal Discovery Address:
https://waxdirpool01-int.wax.wa.lcl/Autodiscover/autodiscoverservice.svc/Root
- External Discovery Address:
https://waxdirpool01-ext.wa.gov/Autodiscover/autodiscoverservice.svc/Root
- No entry in the HTTP Proxy
- Turn Logging Off
- Click the X in the upper right corner to return to the sign-in screen
- Click Sign-In
- Enter your device number on the second screen:
Microsoft Skype for Business for Android:
Installation requirements
You will need an Android 4.0 or later to install Skype for Business.
Install Skype for Business app:
Install the Skype for Business app on your mobile phone with a couple of steps:
- From your Android, go to Google Play Store and search for Microsoft Skype for Business.
- Click the Install Button
After the Client is Installed:
- Open the Skype for Business app by tapping the Skype app icon.
- Accept Terms
- Enter the Sign In Address (Example: martin@des.wa.gov)
- Enter Password – this is your network password
- Select Advanced Options:
- In User Name field, enter your network login (Example: eclient\donnam; this is your network login)
- Turn Auto-Detect Server Off
- Internal Discovery Address:

NOTE: If you are having trouble connecting to Skype with your mobile device, try disabling the wifi on your device temporarily. Connect to Skype and then once you are connected, enable your wifi connection again.
