When you receive an email that contains a Zip file, outlook will behave differently. Instead of allowing you to immediately open the file, Outlook will prompt you to save the attachment. From the saved files location, you are then able to open and review the contents.
Please remember to only save and open Zip files that pertain to work that you do. This will reduce the chances of being infected by a virus.
In Outlook, if you double click on an attached Zip file in your email, you will receive the following message:
Saving the Zip file from your email:
- Choose, Save to Disk
- Select the file location
- Update the file name if necessary
Opening the Zip file:
- Open Windows Explorer
- Navigate to the saved file location
- Double click the file to Open
