Microsoft Edge will log in with your M365 account and always back up your favorites. However, if you choose to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, you must manually backup and restore your favorites on your new computer. Below are the steps for both browsers.
BACKUP & RESTORE INTERNET FAVORITES BY BROWSER
We recommend you save all of your backed up favorites to your OneDrive.
Google Chrome
- Open the Google Chrome browser.
- Open the Chrome menu by clicking the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner.
- Hover over Bookmarks and lists and choose Bookmark Manager.
- Click the 3 dots on the right-hand side of the Search bookmarks bar.
- Choose Export bookmarks.
- Select a location to save your Chrome bookmarks (preferably OneDrive).
Import the Chrome bookmarks file you exported.
- Open the Google Chrome browser.
- Open the Chrome menu by clicking the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner.
- Hover over Bookmarks and lists and choose Bookmark Manager.
- Choose Import bookmarks and settings.
- In the Import bookmarks and settings box, change the drop down to Bookmarks HTML file.
- Click Choose File and browse to the location you saved your exported bookmark file.
- Select your file and choose import.

If your import is successful, a confirmation screen is displayed.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open the Mozilla Firefox browser.
- In the upper-right corner of the window, click the button.
- Choose Bookmarks and then Manage Bookmarks.

In the Library menu, Import and Backup, then choose Backup.
- Select a location to save your Firefox bookmarks (preferably OneDrive).
Import the Firefox bookmarks file you exported.
- Open the Mozilla Firefox browser.
- In the upper-right corner of the window, click the button.
- Choose Bookmarks and then Manage Bookmarks.

In the Library menu, Import and Backup, then choose Import bookmarks from HTML...
- Browse to the HTML bookmark file you just saved and open it.
