Updating a Login Name for a user requires using the User import file. Perform these steps before sending your file to DES so a duplicate account is not created for the user.
1. Search for your user account and navigate to the User Account and Personal Details page.
2. Look at the Employee ID field
a. If this field is a HRMS personnel number, do nothing.
b. If this fields is an email address, update the field to the new/corrected email address. Notice in the screen shot that the email is keyed as Ed. Nolan@wshs.wa.gov. The SAW account was created as Edward.Nolan@wshs.wa.gov so the Employee ID and the Login Name need to be updated.
3. Create your User Import file.
a. If the Employee ID field is a HRMS personnel number, place that into the EMP_NO field in the template. In the LOGIN_USERNAME field place the updated email address (i.e., Edward.Nolan@wshs.wa.gov)
b. If the Employee ID field is an email address, place that new email address into the EMP_NO field in the template (i.e., Edward.Nolan@wshs.wa.gov) and in the LOGIN_USERNAME field.
4. Submit a ticket to DES and attach your import file, place WSLC User Import file in the subject line.
