Can I join a Teams meeting without a Teams account?
- YES - you can join a Teams meeting anytime, from any device, whether you have a Teams account or not. If you don't have an account, follow these steps to join as a guest. For more information, click here.
Can I join a Zoom meeting without a Zoom account?
- YES - a Zoom account is not required if you are strictly joining Zoom Meetings as a participant. If someone invites you to their meeting, you can join as a participant without creating an account. The link will be included in the invitation, you can click the link to join the meeting. An account is only required if you need to create your own meetings and send invitations to participants.

NOTE: some meetings will need a password to join, the password will be included in the meeting invitation.
Can I save my Zoom chats?
- YES and NO - There is no way to download your chat conversations to a file. If you want to save a conversation from Zoom, you have two options: Copy all the text from your Zoom conversation and paste it into a document or take a screen shot of each page and paste it into a document.
Can I download my Zoom recordings?
Can we create webinars in Teams?
- YES – By default, anyone who can schedule a Teams meeting can schedule a webinar. More information will be provided soon on the DES IT Support Center page.
How many attendees can join a Teams Webinar?
- Teams Webinars can support up to 1,000 attendees. For more information, click here.
How many attendees can join a Teams Meeting?
- Up to 20,000 attendees but will be limited to “view only” after 1,000 participants join. For more information, click here.
Can I do Breakout Rooms in Teams?
- YES – you can create Breakout Rooms when you schedule your meeting as well as create Breakout Rooms when a meeting is already started. For more information, click here.
Can I use chat in Teams?
- YES – there are two ways to utilize chat in Teams.
Can I add closed captioning for a meeting in Teams?
YES – Click on meeting controls, then on Turn on live captions. Along with displaying text of what is spoken, Teams will display who is speaking. For more information, click here.
Can I view shared content on my 2nd monitor in Teams?

Can I see all participants in a Teams meeting?

Can I schedule Teams meetings in Outlook?
- YES – Outlook allows you to schedule a Teams meeting by clicking the Teams icon on the meeting invite. All agency default settings are automatically set.
Can I create an instant meeting with someone using the Teams app?
